I've found a nice 57 Special I want to import down to Australia. :)
The car is clean and tidy and original except it does not have the standard Buick wheels.
Where would I be able to buy a set of wheels with the correct hub caps/covers.

Were there any optional wheels available from the manufacturer at time of release?

Where can I find a list of all the options that were available from the factory and dealers.

I've done searches on several Buick specific websites, and googled the web,
but I can't find a good resource on the 57 Buick's specifications and options. :Dou:
Lots of info on later Buicks... but not on the 50's models.

    Can anyone help?

    thanks in advance.

    Tom,

Try the Antique Auto Club of America forums they have a lot more of the older cars and a large Buick section. Hope that helps. I`d send the link but Im not that computer literate. I need my grandson to show me how

Try the Buick Club of America and The Buick Club of Australia. You might try eBay. BC America has several members from Europe and Australia. Does your 57 have bolts with a pilot stud on the brake drum? A set of Skylark Kelsey Hayes Wire wheels are an option.

See if you can find a sales brochure from 57 that would sure be a great start.

Which Model are you getting Wagon, Coupe, Convertible or Sedan?

    Thanks all for the replies...

Vehicle has Kelsey Hayes wire wheels at present (which I intend to keep), but new import rules for Australia require pre 1989 vehicles to be unmodified for import approval.

If I could verify that wire wheels were an option for 57 Buicks, I'd be OK.
I have had no success in finding any info on the standard options available for 57 Buicks at all.

I will need to purchase / acquire a set of standard wheels in the US to be sure of Australian import approval.

I'll chase up the links provided.

    Thanks.
