If this is the wrong place to post this I apologize. I have a 64 wildcat that came with no driveshaft. I bought a used driveshaft off of this site, from a 64 Wildcat, that needs a rebuild. My mechanic said that he can find everything but the carrier bearing? He even called our gm dealer with the part number (1349498-2) And they just said "sorry discontinued" He said worst case scenario we could use the old one but the rubber is in pretty sad shape. I am just repeating what he said because at this point, Im still learning what all this neat stuff is. Anyhow, I would like to get this car "Queen Anne's Revenge" on the road this summer and I know there are a TON of old Buicks here that must have rebuilt driveshafts, someone here will steer me in the right direction. Thanks all as always. Sammy
do you need the carrier bearing? or the whole assembly? when i had my 64 i got the bearing at a part store but the housing (the part bolted to the frame with the rubber on it ) i went to steelrubber.com if you send in your old one they will rebuild it and send it back to you. it costed around 100.00 but that was a few years ago. i hope this helps scott
