Where to get a generator (not an alternator) and an A/C compressor rebuilt?

    Hello all!

Sorry of this has been covered before, but this whole thing with the 62 is new to me. The bearings are going out in the generator in the 62, and it probably isn't putting out much power anyway. I'll get it converted to a 1-wire alternator setup for the time being so I can drive it, but I do want to keep the car fairly original. Anyone know a shop that rebuilds those things?

Ditto for the A/C on the car, but it's already in pieces so it's probably safe to assume the compressor is toast. Any reputable shops out there rebuild A/C compressors?

  2. ask around your local shops
there are several places up here that fix them
all of them are mainly into big horse electric motors but fix this stuff as well
last time i rebuilt a generator for a 57 chev it was only around $50 done-
    good luck
