I have most parts ready for the drum to disc conversion on my 71 Skylark 4 drums car.

I bought most of a kit for a 70-72 chevelle, then odds and ends like wheel bearings, and brake hoses from a parts store.

They said they dont sell the prop valve and to try a dealer. I saw that summit sells a "factory replacement" from some other company but its around $80.

Im leaning towards just buying an adjustable if they are that much. I just dont know what im looking for. Distribution? Combination? Single, Dual? How many inlets and outlets do i need? etc...

So price is a factor for the regular combination valve, if its more than about $40, ill buy the adjustable. I just dont know where to look for the factory style, or who sells them.

Please help, im combination valve illiterate.

Generally referred to as a 'combination valve' since they perform several functions.
The replacements will be $80+. Now made of brass. Avail from any of the brake parts suppliers like Inline Tube, Right Stuff, or resto suppliers like Year One, Ground Up, etc.

A used unit from George is the way to go for the price.:TU:

Id like to have a new unit.

I guess adjustable is the way to go.

What would i need for it to bolt up to the "stock" disc brake system? ie: What size inlet/outlet and how many?

    Will this work?

Whats the advantage of an adjustable one? Other than its adjustable? Would'nt you just adjust it once and after that just leave it alone?

That one has no differential switch for the brake waring light. Why not just spend a little more and get the right one that bolts in?

i wanted adjustment for street, drag or autocross. It probably wouldnt be terrible if it was just like factory to begin with though.

I didnt know it didnt come with the light.

You got me thinking twice now. Ill have to think about this. But you have answered my questions anyway, i was just having trouble sourcing new units.

The eBay one looks like the other repos. That's one option.

The combination valve has several functions:
    - Hold-off valve
    - Warning switch
    - Proportioning valve
    - Distribution block

The Buick Chassis manual has a good description. If you are logged into TeamBuick.com you can view the manual online here:

You could use an adjustable prop valve in the rear line, but you need other components to handle the functions listed above.
