Hey everyone. I just bought a '66 Skylark this morning and I'm brand spankin new to the Buick world (formerly a Ford devotee). I have a really stupid question to start off. Where the heck is the VIN on this thing? I found the body tag, but where is the VIN? If you could let me know, that would be great. Feel free to verbally chastize me as well. Thanks a lot!

    Eric,

Welcome to the wonderful world of Buick :TU:

The VIN is on a little plate attached to the drivers door hinge pillar, and also stamped on the engine.

    Should be 13 digits,
    starting with 443 for a V6, or 444 for a V8 Skylark.

But it's also on the Body Number Plate

ST 66 for the model year, and 12 the digits behind it :Smarty:

All the Dutch board members will have a good laugh when they read your board name

Well, I finally found the VIN on my registration card, but I looked in all the usual places on the car and couldn't find it anywhere. Maybe someone removed it? Good to know that there are other dutch people here too :) Thanks for all your help, I'll definitely be back often.

HAHA! I found it. This car has about five layers of paint on it and the VIN had all five right over it, but after chipping it away, I found it. I kinda feel like an archaeologist with this car. Every time I take sandpaper to it, a new color emerges. Thanks again for your help.
