At the track yesterday and go to put on my reg glasses instead of sunglasses and can't find the d%$mn things. Finally find them and they were wedged up inside of my helmet! Bent pretty bad. New $275 glasses. No wonder my helmet felt a little different! I was cutting teens and twenties all day...... maybe it helped! Bruce
Put our new jet -ski in the water last summer for the first time. Won't be needing goggles as we really won't be going that fast...right? Brand new pair of Serengeti Drivers on the bottom of the river in less than 10 minutes!
Lost a pair this summer going under a bridge in my boat. Idiots were fishing right where the boats go through, had the nerve to yell at me!. Lines on both sides and under my boat. Popped it into neutral and motioned (among other things) to them to move but caught my hand on my glasses and in the drink they went......they had a good laugh. :blast: Bruce
Every lose them sitting atop your head? I have, must be getting old.... I've also done the off the boat thing. Right at the slip. I dove the next day to find them, but to no avail, buried in the silt.
Working on the car a while back I had my son looking in the car, The tool box, my coat... Couldn't find them anywhere. I had to have him read some things for me. We finished up, I unzipped my coveralls and My son says he found my glasses. They were tucked over the neck of my t-shirt. Damn getting old sucks. LOL
You just reminded me.....also in the lake - forgot to take them off leaving the dock on WaterSki's !!! Made it all the way around, Whipped off the the ski line back tooward the dock but misjudged my speed. I would have killed myself hitting the dock too fast So i swung wide and lost them on the graceful entry into the water. uzzled: I did find them several weeks later with Dive gear
I hate when I set then down working on a car then half hour later hear that crunching sound! Another set I lost on the riding mower....hit a branch they fell down....stopped and looked for them, was sure they missed the deck ....finally found the small pieces. Those muching mowers are no lie! :3gears:
3 words: Lasik eye surgery Did mine 4 yrs ago, after wearing contacts and/or glasses 30+ years. I highly recommend it, IF you are a good candidate, but find a reputable surgeon.
this involves a pair of those clip-on shades that you buy when you get prescription glasses....not cheap as they are made by whatever framemaker makes the frames and match the shape of the glasses. Anyway, couple years ago went to a salvage yard south of here that I frequent...usually wear glasses because I don't like sticking things in my eyes (contacts) when I get up that early in the morning and it's just easier to grab my glasses and go. Made the regular run around the yard and at some point later in the venture I realize I had taken off the clip on shades.....ooooops! Well, this yard is pretty large and I had been all over a whole bunch of cars so I said "forget it, I'm out of here". Went back to the yard a few MONTHS later and made the rounds. Sitting there on top of the firewall of a 70 Post Coupe Cutlass I had been getting some parts off of are the clip ons...just where I apparently left them. :bglasses: Patton
I never lose them anywhere, but my cat likes to knock them off my table every once in awhile and I have a nice time feeling around my floor trying to find them for 15 minutes.
I never lost mine when I had them (have had contacts for a while now). My mom tends to look around the kitchen table for her's - moves things around, looks under papers, etc. We ask what she's looking for, she says her glasses, and we point out they are on top of her head.
While I was wearing them... Looked all over my house one morning for about 2 hours trying to find them. Then my daughter asked what I was looking for. Her answer. "You're wearing them Dad!" I went back to bed! ou: o No:
Lost my glasses (and contacts) 5 years ago to LASIK !! Since I was so blind before, my glasses never left my face unless sleeping...now if you want to talk about breaking your glasses....I was very creative in that department.
Got my first pair of glasses back in '77 when I was 12. I really only needed them for reading far away....everything else was pretty good. One winter night, we headed to the mall for something. On the way back, I noticed that the glasses weren't in the car. Thought maybe I left them in one of the stores....went back, didn't find anything - went home. ou: Found them in the snow in the driveway when we got back!! :Brow: Apparently, I had set them on the trunklid for some reason. o No: Thank goodness for contacts. :TU: Lasik would be nice though.
lost a pair of sunglasses to the water also, dove in and then remembered I had them on. lost another pair while I was mushroom hunting in the timber one spring. not real expensive ones but new. branch must have knocked them off the top of my head. anyway, next spring mushroom hunting in the same timber, look down and see something shiney under a leaf, guess what, my glasses, no worse for the wear of laying there a year!
Lost 'em at Guptils in August, still haven't found 'em. Anyone there see them, they were in a brown case?
My glasses are at home on the night stand. Fortunately my eyes are feeling good today. Anyone else do the morning relay? get to the front door sprint back for the keys, then the cell phone, then the glasses, breifcase... My FiL told me he does this on purpose for excersize. I called BS and told him he was getting old and can't remember $#!+. That helped our struggling relationship. LOL
Used to happen to me all the time, but I usually found them with my foot!!! ou: Now I put them in the nightstand DRAWER!!! :TU:
