Where does trunk light supposed to be mounted?

    Hi, I bought a mercury switch trunk light. It came with the factory connection. I was just wondering where the proper place was to mount this thing? Can anyone post a pic of where it should go? thanks.

    I don't have a pic of the inside, but it's in a recess near the edge on the driver side

    mine is mounted in the opening just to the left of the keylock , furthur to the right than on chris's car ..

    Hmmm...maybe different plants mounted it in different places?:Do No: Or maybe different years? Mine's a Flint car, built in November of '69- could be one of those weird "we'll mount it anyplace we chose at this here factory" type of deals?

    If it helps any, the light in both my 68 and 69 are just to the left of the latch assembly like Gerry's.

    Thanks. I'll get a mounting. Is it in a factory hole or should I drill one out?

    I'm confused now...is this a stock switch/light? the one I got from an almost identical wrecked Skylark Custom as mine had a bracket already mounted as an integral part of the assembly, and it fit very neatly into my trunk lid in a recess that already had the proper hole drilled inside:Do No:
