Where do you think the bolts went?

Getting the passenger side valve cover on… This is an AC car… And each one of the valve cover bolts, with the posts, in the lower rear cover hole, fell down somewhere… However, they never hit the ground. Any thoughts or ideas on where those two damn bolts went?

Walk approximately 13ft from any direction you were standing when the fell......that's where they will be

But anytime I drop a bolt it lands dead center of the car just out of arms reach....requiring copious amounts of foul language.....or just behind the tire

What Larry said. Look on the frame where it drops down at the firewall and moves back behind the wheel well.

Sitting on top of the engine mount frame mount is a popular hiding place as well

Been all over and under the f*cker and nothing. Not on the cradle under the pan, not in the header pockets… wtf….2 bolts, 2 different days, same damn hole….

Stuck between the cradle and the brake line that runs behind the cradle. Thats where mine always end up.

You gotta take some bolts from the driver's side and drop them in the same manner. Watch where they land...

Probably the same guy that steals one of your socks when they go through the laundry has them.

Bridging two terminals on your starter. Watch out when you hook the battery back up.

Or wedged between the trans line and the crossmember so that it will eventually wear a hole in the line if not found and left there.

Took a bounce through a hole in the cradle and is inside.

Stuff a towel down in there before you try again.

Max Damage I'm working on it!

The cross member has a hole in too, so if your REALLY lucky stuff can fall down inside of there also...

I have the same problem with a 5/8" socket in the Buchev.

I feel your pain, on dropping fasteners.
It seems the older you get, they drop in the worst places .

Probably with the torx headed screw from the air box on my truck from the last time I changed the air filter!

No seriously, I feel your pain and wish you luck in finding it.

I had a valve lock (half) go flying, heard it hit metal, couldn’t find it ANYWHERE, bought a cheap inspection camera from Harbor Freight, I found it sitting proud on top of the right frame rail just ahead of the body mount under the cowl.
I’ve used that camera for DOZENS of other uses, not bad for under 60 bucks.

It's with the 10 mm and 7/16 socket that's missing from your set. If it did make it inside the frame that rattle will drive you nuts. Check inside the torque box on the firewall..
