    Greetings,

72 Skylark vert going in for final painting and I need to drill the holes for the GS badges...... WHERE?????

Does anyone have the measurements to where they go. The trunk emblem and the fender tags?

    Thanks,

I have the original decklid off of my 70 GS in the shed, the emblem is off of it so I'll get measurments for the holes if you'd like?

    Andy,

Thanks for the link, even though it says it give the mesurements for GS badges it only gives it for the stage one emblem. Some pretty cool stuff on that site anyhow.

    Phil,

Thanks for the pic's, exactly what I needed.

    Rick,

If it would be too much trouble it would help me greatly.

    Thanks,

    Dave

Let's see how these look....Hole one(top right looking at the back of the car) is 2 1/2 From the passengers side edge and 2 1/16 up from the bend in the lip. Hole 2 the bottom hole is 4 inches From the passengers side edge and up 1 3/8 from the bend in the lip. Hole three is out 5 1/8 from the edge and up 2 from the lip.

Just make sure you measure your emblems so that the holes are in the proper relationship to each other. as for the fender, I'll throw a pic up of mine before I install the emblems..These are factory fenders and the holes for a 70 factory emblems GS and 455. The decklid is a 70 also. I Decided to drill the holes in my new decklid after the paint. I think it's the easier way to do it.

Just a word of caution. The above fender picture shows the holes for the original 1970 455 emblem. Most NOS have different locations for the pins. I believe that some repros have the original pin locations.
Just make sure you have your emblems of choice in hand before doing any drilling...

    Rick,

Thanks for the effort. I truly appreciate it!!!

We'll be drilling holes soon :ball:

    Nicholas,

I bought repros from year one, I will take your advice and be careful in drilling. How does that go? Measure once, drill twice?
