Where can I get a left side exhaust manifold for a 69 Wildcat 430V8? I have tried dozens of contacts for weeks. Not all 430 manifolds will fit due to clearance issues (particularily because of an annoying cast protrusion on my engine block) Any advice?
Man, your killing me. I got one on a spare engine that I pulled from a 69 WC ragtop. I know the engine is sitting idle, but its one of those "what if i need to use it someday" things. Plus I know I'm gonna snap some bolts. Please tell me your not at your end looking for one of these.
430 exhaust manifold Try Joe's Auto Parts, Spring Lake MI. They had a '68 or '69 4-door Wildcat there about a year ago. I know the manifolds were there 'cause I couldn't get the heads off..... Phone (616) 842-6940 - they might pull it and ship it if you ask nice...
Scott, What year block do you have? All 68-69 drivers side exhaust manifolds are supposed to be the same. The Buick parts book does make note of an issue with regard to using the 68/69 maniifolds (it was a superceded part for a 67) on a 67 block. Since the 67 400/430 used a different manifold on the drivers side than the later ones, there is a "boss" on the block that needs to be removed. I have several 69 motors (400 and 430) and none have a problem with the exhaust manifold fitting. You may want to check your code on the motor. A 69 block would begin with an "R" and a 67 an "N". It may turn out you have a 67 block and need to remove that boss for the correct 69 manifold to fit. Good Luck, Mark
