I have been trying to find what I believe is called a heat riser. It is the peice that comes of the exsaust manifold with a hose attached to the air cleaner. I think I can by the hose at autozone, but the riser I will have to find elsewhere. Can anyone help me with this or help me figure out how to make one?:beer

No, it's an exhaust manifold heat stove. There are 2 parts, a sheet metal cover that bolts to the driver's exhaust manifold, and an attachment for the hose that bolts to the head. Try posting in parts wanted.

The Burner is a everyday driver , so I will need this part. I'll post in parts wanted but If its not in tx, I wont buy it! I've been scamed too much with these old car parts.:Dou:

heat riser vs heat choke. 2 different parts. if its a heat riser, they still amke them, but not listed under buick. and you will have to modify it a little. if i can find my books, i will list the number.

Are you thinking about the piece that bolts to the exhaust manifold on the driver's side? This would be the piece into which one end of the flexible duct fits. If so they are available used but you would need to specify if it is for a 350 or a 455.

I have the manifold heat shield and the heat riser piece that bolts to the manifold. I don't really want much for them. Just enough for my time.

    PM me. I assume it's for a 350??

You won't likely get burned by members in good standing on this board. Many of us have stuff laying aroung that we don't need but cannot make ourselves throw it away. Need a 2 bbl carb?? 2 bbl manifold.. I have several containers full of stuff that I plan to give away.

These are readily available used. Someone will have one laying around. Just make sure it I from a 350 . I recall they are similar for a 455 but not the same.

If you do get all the parts, remember to make sure the hot air door in the snorkel of the air cleaner is working properly:TU: Mark

I will prbably open it up on cold days close it. And disconnect the hose on warm to hot days:TU:

Caesar: As others have said - you don't get BURNED or SCAMMED hereabouts. I am not an old timer like some others - but when they tell you something here - you can bet ALL your gold bars they mean it.

I am not much newer than you are - but I am impressed with all that is said here. Some is hokey, and some humorous, but what's said in negotiations and transactions is NEVER in doubt.

Uh - take a peek around at how many posts some of these dudes have listed - top right corner of a post message. Some I've noticed ar 17,000 or even more. They wouldn't be hanging around at all if someone was lyin' or cheatin'. .. Figure out how long it might take to accumulate 17,000 posts ? If that individual wrote 5 posts per day, EVERY DAY, that's about 10 years. That isn't how many mail items they READ, it's how many they WROTE.
