Nothing is more fun than a nice little burst to pull the front tires off the ground at the stop light. No tire spin, not over the speed limit...can you get a ticket for tires off the ground??

Yep... Loss of traction, wreckless driving, exebition of horsepower, street racing... Anything the officer wants to give to you. And dont think a judge is gonna be sympathetic and "see it your way".

  3. actually the best 60' times come from cars set up to use all their power propelling the car forward and not upward.

Of course, I would NEVER encourage such behavior during street driving.

Darryl, I have to admit, for a guy on the cutting edge, your response is a bit "old school" mentality! :)

To pull wheelies on a street driven car is all about what you have, and what your idea of streetable is. Hit a pump gas 350 with a 200 hit of nitrous off idle, and some gear and tires, and it will pull wheelies. PERIOD.

I don't think that is streetable, but the thread is about wheelies. I have a twin turboe'd street car with a mild cam, mild converter, and matched gears. My car can't pull wheelies yet, but would kick the $hit out of a typical nitroed stocker. Best of all, I take my kid to McDonalds in it, go to the hardware store, run to Costco etc, no trouble.

My point is, just about any car can be made to yank the wheels on the street. The aforementioned vehicle being "streetable"? That is too prone to interpretation for a generic response.

Damn I'm one opinionated SOB on this board tonight!!! I need another IPA!

If anyone has a 350 car pulling wheelies, POST IT!!! Then this gay debate will be over!

I want to make clear there is a VERY distinct difference between a car that can "get air under the front tires" and one that can do wheelies.

I honestly thought we were talking about wheelies.

Ha! Good form! I guess there needs to be a greater definition of the goal at hand.

BTW, how's the diesel centrifuge coming?

Traction + Gears = equals wheels stand OR broken parts.... better build a good rear and driveline...

You can get the wheels up with a bone stock 350 SBB if you have the right guy set up the car with the battery in the stock location and full interior. My Green 74 Apollo bracket car does it every pass. You have to have traction. On the street this "traction"may be hard to find. Good luck.
