:Comp: Question How thick should the wheel lugs be on a 8.5" 10-Bolt Rear axle be for a strong low 11-high 10 sec.street-strip car...?:Do No: What would the determining factors be,besides weight and torque.Yes the car would be run with Drag radials and slicks. I hope Jim(monzaz) would chime in...getting close to purchasing my rear end(Jim I'll PM you).Who has some advice Thanks,Jay B.Britt,Jr.

Slicks play by different rules alone with track condition suspension etc.

We run 10.90 on 8" x 26 tall slicks pulls the fronts about a foot up ...

9-10 is fine but you can only expect as much grip as the suspension will handle before overpowering tires. The front needs to come up the back needs to squat tire pressure good heat on the tires track prepped ....We can go on and on.

Just go for the look you want I am sure you will not make that much power that your going over power the slicks...Your suspension will be the deciding factor on that problem.

There is always a optimal square inch patch per pound of the back half of the car figure and weight transfer which adds more on the tire foot print too.

ALL I am saying is do not OVER WORRY this fact any slick will hugely increase stick at the track and will solve just about all grip issues at a well prepped track. :) Jim

Thanks,Jim for the advice...will a stock wheel lug support slicks/drag radials,or should I ask the questions when I start paying on the rear end:Do No: A ounce of prevention,is better than a pound of cure..Thanks again,Jim. Jay B.Britt,Jr.

HA HA YES I just re read your post ...WHAT A MORON I AM...lol.

the studs are 7/16" thick they are smallest on the market for ANY car company... IF you are going to race hard 1/2" studs would be a SMART upgrade but I doubt you would need any more than that. :) Hope that answered it...LOL. :D Jim
