Has anyone tried to install this type of sport wheel on a mid-sixties tilt column? :Do No: Thanks,
    Tom

I am wondering also about a 66 tilt column to be exact.
I have a complete blue set up like this and need to know.

Would it require a different hub or something? Anybody?

yes, different hub for pre-69 as the column was smaller in diameter without the iignition in the column

That is a cool air cleaner on your car!
And YES, a sport wheel will work on a mid 60s car.
I don't know which mid 60s car you refer to, I see both of you guys have a big car in your avatar. But I have a 66 Cutlass, it had a regular column, I put a tilt column in it (all 66,65,64 "A" body will interchange). I then put a sport wheel from a 70s Buick on it with a new repro Olds emblem in the Buick horn button (Olds had a version of the sport wheel with 4 spokes, the buttons are the same, I liked Buicks wheel better)(also the Chevelle and Corvette horn buttons will fit). The 64,65,66 "A" body tilt column is larger in diameter than the non tilt.
I used a wheel hub from a 67 Camaro, it is a very minor bit bigger, I attached a picture, but it looks good installed. The close up picture is of another tilt column in my basement, and the hub is a new repro 67 Camaro, it is just sitting on there, it will go down a lot more, and look better, with a nut on there to pull it down.
If you do not like the small difference in size, Jerry Salley in CA will turn one down to fit what you need, 559-658-2993.
If you need more info send me an email, it is listed in my signature, we can talk on the telephone about the issues involved.
