The overdrive trans and gears are in and man is it fun blasting through the gears:3gears:, the only problem is I can't even punch it from a dead stop, even a roll is bad as the rear hops like crazy. It was a slight problem before the trans and gears if I was on a rough road or something but now its ridiculous.

The only things I can think of that are causing it are either the lift springs I have in the rear or the fact that I did not space out the trans mount for the 2004r.

Would the trans mount cause bad wheel hop due to the driveshaft angle or is it the springs I need to replace?

tall springs kill ic. go short soft springs. boxed lowers no hops and airbag in r r. check traction recipe gary b has a lot of good p/n and info.

I do have boxed lowers but I would like to avoid traction bars for now (I do have some ladder bars sitting in the garage but I have always worried they would hurt ride quality)

I guess the best place to start is to get the high lift springs out

Worn control arm bushings can contribute to this too; worth checking, anyway.

I have replaced all but the bushings where the uppers attach to the frame, would only 2 worn bushings cause these issues or contribute?

bingo - this is your fix, or at least a part of it.

My car hopped with even a 1" spacer in the rear.

Did you use the PST poly trans mount? If you did they are too tall. Use the Prothane mount.

I picked up springs from Napa today so I would have them for the track tomorrow morning. Looked at the box when I got home and it said cargo springs:Dou:

I automatically assumed they wouldn't work but I decided to try them out anyways. Didn't realize they were progressive rate springs and also much thinner than the cargo springs I originally had. Dropped the car 2 inches and now no more wheel hop:Brow::3gears:
