I tried to find the thread that already covered this but, I couldnt so I was wondering I have a 68 gs and wanted to put a 9in wide wheel with a 275 tire I was wondering what you guys had to use for the backspace to get it to tuck under the fenderwell?

Here is some other info I copied from the board and have saved, pretty much the gist of the threads

I'm running 16x8's with 5" of backspacing, (275-55-16 tire) in the rear, and 16x7 fronts with 4" of backspacing and 225-60-16 tires.

A 275-50 will fit with no trimming and no rubbing if your backspacing is correct, I used and 8" wheel with 5" of backspacing on mine and they fit perfect.
A 235 or 245-60 is about as big as you want to go on the front without upgrading steering and suspension components. With a 7" wheel, 4" of backspacing works well.

the absolute biggest tire you can get in there is a 295, if your using a 15x8 your backspacing will have to be 5.25", a 275 is a much nicer fit (what I went with) a 15x8 with 5" of backspacing gives you great clearance, no trimming required.

All this info was found by doing an advanced searches for (68,69) in the wheel/tire forum. Hope it helps you out, Steve
