   I don't mean to sound stupid but how do you measure wheel backset?

   Measure from the mounting face of the sheel center to the edge of the rim. When I say "mounting face", I mean the part that touches the drum/disc when the wheel is mounted.
   
   I can assume you mean "backspacing" when you say backset?
