I had a 65 comet a few years ago, no cyclone but a comet. Loved the looks of the car. Nice lines, way better than say a same vintage Nova, even though the chevy gets all the attention. Mine just needed a little more body work help than I could do and it wasn't worth the expense to me. Not a lot of rust, but it had been rear ended in the past and the work done was not even second rate.
There is one of those cars here locally. It's not a cyclone but it's gold with a white interior. I saw the guy at the parts store last week and he said he is planning to sell it. I've seen the car and it looks good but I don't know much about it. If anyone is seriously interested I will be happy to find out more.
My dad had one of those giant Lincolns - it was a 1959, and not a ragtop, but the same salmon color as the convertible that you have in the photo. Incredibly, there was another guy in our town who had it's twin. One day the two Lincolns were parked side by side at a local store. The guy who owned the other one got into my dad's Lincoln and was trying to figure out why his key wouldn't turn when my dad showed up. They had a good laugh about it. Dad traded the '59 for a black '60 that had quite a history. I liked the '59 better.
my dad had a 63 impalla 2 door when i was growing up have to say i still like them and would love to have one scott
68 Firebird 400 4 speed convertible. Had 1 a long time ago verdoro green, black on black and just loved it. Need to get anther one
I have almost as much Lamborghini Countach collectibles as I do for Buick GSX! Absolutely LOVE them! Next favorite American musclecar, after '70 Buick GSX: '69 Pontiac Trans Am!:bglasses:
MMM it is hard because I have a few favorites besides Buick. Well I'll got with the 70 GTO. I had one after my 75 Pacecar. std 400 M-21 3:90 posi. power nothing but the engine. Tim
The forgotten Lincolns; 58 Mark III 59 Mark IV 60 Mark V Giant, indeed. . Dad, had the smaller ones; a 61, 64, 65, two 66s (one a conv.) And, those MELs are torque monsters, and smooooth......
That is what I was wondering, from 2004 to 2011, somebody was bored and had some time to search! The Lambo was the car for me, I loved that car since the 70's and would still love to drive one. There are a lot of great cars out there but I remember dreaming of this one the most when I was younger!
Anything with 4 wheels and a V8 is cool with me. If it's GM, even better. I'm a huge Buick fan but have a great soft spot for Pontiac, Olds, and Chevy as well. I love gassers, street rods, pro-street... anything from 1930 to 1993 to me has some sort of potential and is just a canvas that I salivate over. In other words, I'm not picky. :TU:
Several good ones here, but even though it is not a Buick as we said, I have to go for the 1966 ChevyII SS with the L79 350hp 327 engine and 4 speed with a 12 bolt 3.73 gear. Why would i pick this car? Mainly because this is what I bought for my very first new car. It was very fast and with a cam change and and some tuning and slicks. There just was not anything on the street that could touch it. Oh, ask Grumpy Jenkins. I ran it on the street and raced it hard for over a year. But, I traded it for a 67 Buick GS340 to make my future wife happy. Had the GS until the early 90s and sold it to send her back to college. After 34 years she was gone and have a wife that loves racing and a GS400 Drag Car and have built her a 83 Regal race car too. Still would like to have a Nova in the garage but they are out of sight now. Jim N.
A 1966 Olds 442, 4spd convert. white on red. I had a 66 F85 coupe, great car. A 67 or 68 Firebird Formula 400, 4spd. A 57 Olds 88 convert. Drove one once & fell in love with it. Never thought I'd like a big boat like that!
88 a boat? 88's are small cars. I had a 1973 88 conv for 26 years. It was small next to my Dad's Lincolns and Roadmaster. I like the 66 442, also. There was a guy in high school, had a 66 442. It was like a brand new car.
Funny thing, I saw one stripped down on a trailer today sitting in the local McDonalds parking lot. Pulled in to show the daughter. Pretty much a stripped body with at least enough of the drivetrain to be a roller left. Looked like it might be getting hauled off to get some fresh paint! The daughter told me she wants one.
