I'm trying to start one my threads were everybodys got something to say. So here it is! People always ask whats up, so heres your chance to answer. I'll start.....

Well, its cold here so work in the garage is minimal. My old garage isn't well insulated, and the heat don't work great under forty degrees. I've recentley gutted my new (used) Regal doors in the basement, and I will have them chemically stripped or media beaded in the spring. I bought a universal exercise machine Friday so I can rehab my back at home. My insurance doesn't cover anymore therapy and the Gov't organazation I work for don't give a darn about my health, so I'm gonna fix my back myself. I have two cracked and three bulging discs. I'm hardly crippled, just sore alot. I deal with it. I've been working alot of OT to catch up on years of stupidity. The job ain't great, but I read about people losing there jobs everyday and I'm not one of them. My winter plans are for some performance upgrades on the Regal, and a functional Wildcat for summer. Overall life is good.

Hmm, where to start? :) I'm working (or, I'm supposed to be working) on a seminar presentation for my elective class tomorrow about the Philosophy of Cloning. Quite the controversial subject!

My LeSabre is going through some pre e-test maintenance this week, starting tomorrow. Rebuilt Q-Jet, new cat, fix the fuel leak, so on and so forth. Have a slow leak on my RR tire that I have to fix, too. I hope to have a '70 GS 350 built for the car by summer (if not sooner) to replace the tired 307. I also have an '85 Omni that I want to replace the feedback carb-ed 2.2 with a TBI or an MPFI T1 2.2, just for reliability's sake, not necessarily for performance. Anybody ever played with these 2.2's much? Still trying to unload my '63 Chrysler as well. Price Neg.!

Went to Sunday worship this morning, and I'm feeling very uplifted! God's blessed me with an amazing girlfriend too. This is also my last term of Motive Power Operations at Niagara College, and I'm teaching the first year students once a week! Teaching is a really great experience, I'm loving every minute of it so far.

That's what's up. Yes, life is good!

right now it is snowing pretty hard...again! [why did i complain about not enough snow?] so working on the 68 is postponed again. i have just started seeing a nice gal, 29 [i'm 42...hmmm] so she is taking up a lot of my free time. she is tall, beautiful, and has a lot of the same thought processes i do. i am really hoping we work out, despite the age difference, and as i am finding out, physical differences [ i gotta start working out more! :Dou: ]. work this time of year is really day by day. i work in a plywood plant and work is dictated by sales which are off this time of year. i am not missing work, just dont know from one day to the next what we are running. getting tired already of the election propaganda. i will make up my mind who to vote for before november, but i dont need to be beat over the head with this stuff. life, otherwise, is good, just a little slow this time of year.

    Hmmm
Work is crazy. I should be working 16 hour days but I'm just plain burnt out. And the less OT I work, the more behind I get, the more behind I get the more burnt out I get, the more burnt out I get the less I work... see a pattern? I really need to get out of this slump.

I even quit doing clocks. I just don't feel like it. I haven't even tried to sell one in a long time.

It's freezing cold out. I HATE winter. I don't know... but it seems that the older I get, the more the cold effects me. I'm actually completely pi$$ed by the time I walk from my car to the front door because of how cold it is. I stay mad for about an hour after I get in the house. I get chilled to the bone in 5 seconds and take forever to warm back up.

Too many cars and not enough space. I can just get 3 in the garage, but you can barely walk between them, muchless work on them. And even if I could get them all in the garage, I just don't have the motivation or the cash to do anything to them right now. I think it's related to being burnt out at work.

On the bright side, we looked at a house this weekend. 40x40 shop and a 2 car attached garage! I'm excited about it. The house is a dive though. It needs every room redone except the kitchen which is all new. I know I won't feel like messing with all that. But man.. a 40x40 shop and a 2 car attached garage??!!?? Kinda hard to pass up, but we haven't decided whether to make an offer yet. I think we're going to check it out again Tuesday night.

Maybe a new house would be just the kick in the pants I need to get out of this slump. Something new and exciting. Get out of this rut I'm in.

All and all I guess I can't complain. Things are good. These are good problems to have, compared to what some others in this crazy world are going through right now. I'm thankful for what we have! :)

Man I thought I was the only one getting burnt out on work.I have been working ot since August and since the holidays been on 7 days now back to 6.Went in yesterday and the boss said he could care less about us(great motivation)and half the people I work with are too chicken to get a union to come in.weather has been way below normal, tired of snow,I am looking at my poor car buried under a few inches right now.On a brighter note I am going to finally order a cowl induction scoop for my car and trying to find some needed parts since I have some extra cash now

    ...strangle...engine...shop...
    ...strangle...engine...shop...

sounds like we all need to go somewhere WARM and SUNNY!! sometimes when i can i get outside and just go for a ride on my Mt. bike, but the cold and snow and crappy roads usually make that no fun either. and it is relatively warm here, as opposed to where rick and the rest of you easterners are at [IMG]
to this end i suppose we ought to think about where we would rather be. for me any pacific island would work located near the equator. we have hot springs around here, and they are a fair substitute if you can get to them through the snow [IMG]
or you can think of it this way, warm weather is only about 2160 hours away [IMG]

So I was about to order a nice new rear bumper for my 69 GS, but.....

The timing belt snapped on the wife's 99 VW Passat. Valve damage? Uhhh, all the I's became J's and L's, with one or two S's thrown in for good measure. Needless to say, VW parts aint cheap, so even though it's a bunch o' money, it's still worth doing.

Still, figured I might as well buy the bumper, but then....

The wife had some sort of unbelievable allergic reaction to who knows what. She didn't go anywhere all day -- so it aint like she ate rat at a Thai food place or something. Only normal stuff she has eaten on a weekly basis. Coulda been tylenol, but sh'e taken that for years too with no ill effects.

Anyway, looked like she had 10,000 mosquito bites, she turned bright red, tongue started to swell up, etc., all in the span of an hour. Took her to the ER, they treated her and dsicharged her, but I then had to take her back and she stayed at the ho$pital for two nights. No idea whatsoever what caused it -- maybe sh'e allergic to tylenol after the pregnancy.

Anyway, I'd rather not have the hopsital bills (got insurance but it'll still run a grand or more), but then again i'd rather have the bills than be a single father....

So the bumper waits another year. Such is life. But hey, at least I'm warm (Not many snow drifts on the way to the hospital, y'know?)
