You can put 24's on it with skinnys without raising the car up or cutting anything. It would look really good and wouldn't look 'too big' because the car wouldn't need to be raised. 22's would probably be best, I'd lower the front end 2 inches and lower the rear 1 inch and put 22's on it. You could always do 20's but you dont want the tires to be too small if you keep the car at stock height, otherwise the car will look like it has really small wheels and tires. 20's look good if you have bigger tires or you lower it. It depends on what you like. I wouldn't put bigger than 24's on it because then you would have to raise it up and/or cut things to make them fit. I wouldn't put 26's on a Muscle car. I hope I have helped.

Well, if you are going with the Buick rally wheels - you could go with 15x8 (custom made) rims for the rear with 275x60x15 tires. I wouldn't go much bigger than that though I believe some guys here may have a larger rear tire with air bags or rolled the wheel opening lip. If you want stock GS size rims and tires go with 15x7s and 245x60x15 tires. I'm currently having a set of staggered 15x8 and 15x7 Buick rally wheels made and will use 255x60x15 tires all around.

whats the biggest tires i can fit on what i believe to be stock 72 skylark 14's. The current tire is 215/75/14. I would like to squeeze on something wider and a bit taller for the rear. I want to take the car on my camping trip this weekend, about an hour drive away, and i have dryrot on the frounts, and dont want a blowut.

I dont want something that looks rediculous. But i definatly like the fat tire hot rod look, but dont have the money for wider rims.

    >>I believe that is the same size tire on my 72's current 14 inch rally wheels - not sure how big you can go with them. I'll be selling my set from my car as soon as my new set is built.

is 255/80/r14 going to fit on the rims? I have the car raised with airshocks and am going to as taller springs or a shim kit to smoothen out the ride so rubbing isnt an issue.

Well acording to tire rack the widest tires for 14inch rims are 245/60. But since the stock tires are 215/75 they are taller, and something wider but shorter would look odd in back. The only real option would be new rims. So i gues im going to have to stay with the same tires.

The tire size i mentioned before don't even exist :Dou:

You are severely limited with a 14" rim. My advice would be to save a few more pennies and get a set of 15" rims. You'll have a much better choice of tire sizes.

You may be suprised at what you can find at the junk yard. I just bought 2 15x7 wheels for $35 a piece. repainted them and polished them and now they look like new. I put 255 70 15 tires on them. I wouldn't go any bigger than that...they look HUGE compared to the 215 75 14's I took off. I think I may take them back and get 255 60 15's instead. Kinda got that Joe Dirt look going on now. Might just take some getting used to though.
