I've got a new-in-the-box Q-Jet that I want to sell. I don't know what it fits. #7029270. Any idea of what it fits/value?? :Do No: Thanks!

By the numbers you have a Rochester Q-jet from a 1969 Pontiac non-emissions (49 state), with an automatic transmission. The 0 is typical of most A-body-auto cars, higher numbers were used to denote the performance packages.

It's best use (numbers matching) would be for a 1969 Pontiac GTO. It would work for 67-70 GTO, Skylark, GS, or Malibu.

They sell from $20-200 on e-bay depending on the condition.

...a basic breakdown of the numbers can be found here:

  4. I recently picked up a near new-in-the-box 70 Riv 455 Qjet for $200. Only had about an hour of run time on it. (Thanks Bill!) A couple hundred is a good price. Depends on where you want to sell it??

:TU: Thanks guys for your help. I take it that it is used exclusively on 455 engines?

Nope, the Q has been run on everything from the little V6's to the Caddy 502's.

The one you have is a 750CFM unit, and is ideal for a 350. Make sure the airvalve on the secondaries open all the way (those big doors on the back barrels) and you've got a 750CFM that'll be good for a 350. They'd install them on smaller engines by limiting the airvalve opening and thus restricting the airflow.

:TU: Thanks Clint! - the secondaries open all the way. I'll be putting it up for sale soon, along with some other GS parts.
