What's this hole for???

On what appears to be all alum. 455 intakes (poston, TA, edelbrock) there is a threaded hole on the passenger side between the number two and four ports very near the flange. If you look in the TA or Poston catalogs you can see it.

My problem is that on my Poston intake (yeh, I know, but I can't afford another one right now) this hole was drilled to deep and there is actually a pin hole going into the #2 port. I thought about just having this threaded hole filled with weld but I don't know if I will need it or not. (I'm still putting the motor together for the first time) Does anyone know what this hole is for?

    Thanks:Dou:

That hole is for the upper a/c bracket rear mount. The upper a/c bracket, sort of triangular shaped, mounts to it. Just put a bolt into it and it wil seal up. Jim Burek
