Can anyone tell me about this wood steering wheel I bought the other day? I have seen it installed on '65 Skylarks, and I have seen the horn button cap on wood wheels made for '68 Skylarks. How rare is it? What is it correct for? How much is it worth? Thanks
Horn cap is a 1968 only horn cap that goes to the 3 spoke wood wheel . The wheel you have there looks like a Riv wheel (1964 and or .....) The price on depends on the condition of each piece . :bglasses: :TU:
That's not a 64- 66 Riv or 66 Wildcat wheel. Here is a pict of mine with the correct wood wheel. Larry
It is a Chebby wheel. They were available on 1964-66 Chevelle Corvair and Impala models. They are now being reproduced including the hub. What do you want for it?
So this steering wheel is NOT a Buick wheel? Does it fit anything else besides 64-66 Chevelle, Corviar, & Impala? Was it just a coincidence that the exact same wheel was on a '65 Skylark (see link I posted above)? I will most likely be placing the wheel, horn cap, and a pair of NOS '65 Special lenses on eBay soon... (I would offer them here, but I need to fund my projects...) Thanks for all the info!!!!!!!!!
I forgot one... ou: Add the 64-66 Nova to the list of Chebbys that wheel was originally offered on. Depending on which mounting hub is under it, that wheel could go on just about any GM product 'cept for the newer air-bagged cars.
Ok, so how do I remove the horn cap? When I sell the cap & wheel separately, what parts (if any) should stay with the horn cap? Does anyone have the group # & part # for horn cap? Thanks again
Interested in those Special lenses... If they're for the turn signals... Name a price and I'll see if I can do it. Skip that eBay stuff if you can, price'll probably end up similar, and no seller's fee, unless you're looking to win the lottery.
Bottom lens has some slight damage around the outter rim... Lens itself is mint; should look great once installed. Here's a zoom of the bottom lens:
