I've got a lead on two 2004Rs, guy says they were good when he pulled them. I've heard that a time or two before. Regardless. What's the going rate for one of these in this day? Any ideas? Don't want to skin myself but then again, don't want to shove a gun down the guys throat. Many thanks. Oh, and they are stock, no after market upgrades.

I got mine as a core last year for $200. What's he asking for them? I wouldn't put much stock in it still being "good" to use without a trip to the tranny shop for at least a basic redo.

my core was $100.00 to the trans rebuilder. I'm sure he gets a better price than someone off the street. I'd guess $100-$200 for a core would be average but pricing differs in different locations. The best way to compare prices is to call the businessess(junk yards) in your area that sell them and ask.

Local u-pull-it yards here charge $50 for any trans. If you are going to get it rebuilt, hit some local yards.

Thanks guy. It seems that Junk Yards in Florida always seem to have better prices then out here in So. Cal. maybe with the exception of BBB. Thanks for your input. The two trannys are 150 dollars each and I don't have the numbers but I can get them. I already have a nice one built for 500 HP however, it seems logical to have a spare or two, for parts.

I swapped a Chev Powerglide for mine, straight up. :Brow:
Then again, I made the deal with my brother, he sold the powerglide to a friend of his.

The two trannys, (2004Rs) as mentioned above have the following numbers stamped on them, 406G and 409 G. Any meaning to these numbers. Thanks in advance as always.
