I was wondering if you were to break up the United States into time zones which Buick Car Show would you consider to be the best in each time zone ?

C'mon Jeff, don't be a bootlicker! Besides, the BCA annual shows make our BPG show look like cruise night at the local Autozone. I went with John and Carl to Buffalo a couple of years ago and to Flint last year. HUGE!!

The All Buick Open in Puyallup for the best on the West Coast? I am throwing it out there with a question mark as there may be bigger and better ones in CA?? Maybe someone from Cali can let us know. We had 175 Buicks at this year's event.

What's the one in FLINT ? What time of the year is it ?

"FLINT", was last year's Buick's 100th Anniversary Celebration and what an event it was, you missed the best Buick show on earth! May not be another like it until 200th!

BCA Nationals are every year in different areas of the country, trying to be in different "time zones" each year. This year's was in Plano, TX., 2005 = Batavia, NY.

    join each other

    joining multiple Buick Clubs/organizations

I will be joing the BPG after attending the Nationals and meeting many really nice people and having a really great time. It certainly is a benefit to belong to multiple Buick Clubs. I would recommend that all Buick collectors/owners join the Buick Club of America, it encompasses all years, groups, and aspects of the Buick hobby. Also there are many Chapters across the country fo join for a local support group/group of friends. Withing the BCA there a "SUB" groups one of which is a "Performance Group". A graet monthly mag "The Bugle" goes out to members and there is an active (although not as active as this website)website that has many of the same posters here plus many others that havn't found the V8 site yet. I have been a BCA member for 25 years and have enjoyed every one of them. The Nationals are always great and you get to enjoy the flavor of whatever Chapter/Area is hosting it. If anyone has any BCA questions you can email me or email me with your phone # and I can give you a call.:TU:

    search

Jarrod, do a search - I posted a list of some of the hotels in the area for the BCA natioanls next year along with phone numbers. Show Date is July 6-9. It is held at the "Host Hotel"Holiday Inn right off the exit in Batavia. Remember, you have to be a BCA member to register for the show/event.

There is also another division of the BCA which might interest many of you ! It is the "Bucik Driving Enthusiasts Division" . This group is devoted to driving their Buicks, and has at least two meets a year in different localities. This year we had our BDE national meet in Grand Rapids MI, and our regional meet will be in Westerchester PA the end of September. Our National meet next year is in Sedona AZ , so you can see that we drive our Buicks all over the country.

To me it isn't much of a show if you can't drag race afterward.:Brow:

    drag

Jeff, the BCA has tried to incorporate a drag racing event into each National possible. The BCA has to look at the wants/needs of a much broader group that encompasses all. Roberta has been instrumental in getting the BCA to hold these events. The only years that there are not drag racing events sceduled is when a track is not physically close enough to a National sight. I am sure as membership wants warrant it, that a drag strip being close to a selected National sight will become even more important. Again it's hard to find a venue that will please every member each year.:Do No:

I'm just jaded. I really love my club and will toot its horn every chance I get.

Of course I know the BCA shows are awesome. But I have to spout about the BPG now, don't I???

Yardley, there's nothing wrong with tooting your horn about the BPG-it is an excellent club with outstanding members. I agree with you too. Yes,the BCA runs a very good show and they also incorporate drag racing.I know at Flint,we were all at Milan Dragway and had a great time. And for the car show,it was HUGE.

Whatever Buick meet it is,at least there is something for us Buick guys.

Mark you calendars guys for Batavia next year.:TU:

The 100th Buick celebration did indeed have a drag race at Milan, and I ran the "Buick Bug" down the track! It wasn't the fastest Buick there, but how many people have had a chance to drive a 1910 race car with a 622 cubic innch 4 cylinder engine. That ,to me was one of the best moments of my life!

Go ahead and shoot me but isn't there a GS Club of America? :puzzled:

I have never been to any of the others and I'm sure they're great as well. Whatever time zone Kentucky is in (mostly EST, a portion is in CST I think) that's what I'll go with because I've been there and it's awesome, all BS aside.

    GS Club

Yes there is of course a GS Club and they have nationals also. My only problem with them are they are GS only - BCA & BPG include all - If you are strickly a GS Guy then the GS Club is certainly a must for you. There are many of us that think that there are other Buicks out there other than the GS's(not to take anything away fromm the GS's) so the GS Club doesn't work for us.

    Re: GS Club

    Keith,

That's not true. While it is called the GS Club, they welcome all makes of Buick. They've never excluded a single Buick from the show or the races for that matter that I know of as long as there's enough to have a class. It may have begun as GS's only, if it did that quickly changed. There are a sea of Wildcats, Rivvy's as well as Electras, LeSabres and even Buick powered Brand X's, not to mention Turbo cars, but, whatever. Are we talking about the same club here? :Do No:

In any case, the more clubs the better I say, but I just wanted to make the record clear on the GSCA. It is not exclusively GS by any stretch.
