i have a hf 4 wheel drive ball joint press and have used that to press out the front control arm bushings has anyone ever used one to press out the bushings on the rear end ears?
if not what else can be used?
the hrpartsnstuff removal tool looks good but i don't want to spend the money on a tool i will use only once
    thanks

I'm sure it is not the preferred way but I had good luck with a hammer and a large socket while my rear end was out.

hammer out.. only takes a hit or 2 if you square up on it good, and press back in till they bottom against the shoulder

On my 65 Skylark rear end I had to drill through the rubber multiple times and then drive the rubber and the center out with a punch (any long metal object). Then I cut the remaining tubular sleeve with a saws-all, being careful not to cut the rear end casting. Then I collapsed the tube with a chisel and drove it out. This method is only necessary with really stubborn bushings, and I also lacked correct tools to do the job. I have sense purchased a tool for that purpose, but I have never used it.
