:beer its currently got the 350 2 barrell and i have $5000 to spend on motor, just need input on if im better to rebuild and beef teh 350 with great parts, put a blower on the stock motor, or tear her out for a 454-455 just wondering what teh magic combos yu guys have found are for intake/carb/header thanks in advance
number 1 u keep that damn chevy motor out...if you have 5 gs...send your heads to JW for a 15-18 hundred dollar flow job, then you work on your trans..then rear...you can have all the hp you want but if you no traction to move it..your screwed unless you race from a roll..ex. from 60mph but for the intake and carb....poston s-divider, carb: rebuilt quad(john osbourne only!) or a 750 speed demon headers: hooker super comp...$500 i have all of the following now and i love it.... my 2 cents
If you send in your old crank and rods as cores to TA you can get a rotating assembly thats ready to run for a decent price. If you want to use nos then you'll need to get custom forged pistons, but otherwise the Hypers are fine. Get the block bored 30 over, get the deck hieght lowered by milling the Block and the heads. Don't use a high volume oil pump just make sure the regular one is in good shape and clearanced properly. Use a pre-smog intake with portmatching, use the hooker headers. Goodluck.
