Right Now Im Not To Sure What I Have In There Now. My Tranny Guy Said That Its Somewhere Between 1700 And 2000. Should I Go Higher? I Bet Mine Is Only A 1700. Just Wondering What I Should Go Up To.

You probably don't want to bother changing a convertor until you change the rear gears.

As an example, my car's convertor stalls around 2800 rpm. It also has 2.56 gears. When I was driving it home from Rick Henderson's after the motor got dropped in earlier this year, it would pull around 2800 rpm climbing the lightest hill. Then I'd crest the hill and it would drop around 1600 rpm.

The motor only needed to turn around 1600 rpm or so at highway speeds, but because of the stall convertor slippage, and hills would just make the engine rev higher to maintain rpm's.

It would be very inefficient to change your convertor now to a stall that is higher than your normal crusing rpm's.

Are you changing the gears any time soon?

I think you'd be better off saving up for the rear than buying the convertor now.

2.56 plus good convertor would get you less than stock convertor plus 3.73 or 3.42's.
