What works well on cleaning Pearl White Int?

Had my 71 for 10 years and the original interior is a battle to keep clean. I don't dare wear jeans in the car as the seats seem to pull the dye right out of them. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Jeff,

I have the same problem with mine. This worked really well for me:

Wash seats with your favorite cleaning product. I use Simple Green.

Then get a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and use that on the seats. It pulls the grime out of all the crevices.

I have the same problem with the jeans. I bought a seat cover from JC Whitney. It's made for quick on/off, it rolls up into a tiny bag after taking it off. Waterproof, too. Made for emergencies - like wet from the beach, or quick trips with the dog, etc. I use it for driving around, but can take it off easy at a car show, cruise-in, etc. Cuts down on the extra cleaning time.

    Good luck!

I have used Fantastik with pretty good results. Works on the headliner too. Someday I want to swap my white interior for a black because I drive the car often and I also find it's difficult to keep it looking good.

That Pearl is so great!!!! A few of my friends mentioned death when I told them I was considering black!!

FYI - At a show this weekend a 70 GS owner told me he had his interior replaced, Year One, and it made a huge difference in "cleanability". Said the new stuff did not dirty near as much as the old interior.

    Thanks! :TU:

Yeah the 70 in my avatar has all brand new pearl white interior upholstery from OPG (stuff came from PUI) and I wear denim shorts in the car all the time and haven't had a problem. The biggest problem so far is crap falling from nearby trees when the top is down.

I use Tuff Stuff and a stiff bristle brush to work the dirt out, then wipe with a rag. It works well just need to be in the mood to scrub all the white.

Mr. Clean's eraser is the best. I've tried everything for nearly 25 years, nothing compares.

I used the Magic Eraser on my 72 original white interior last night and it never cleaned up as good as it did with the Magic Eraser. I even did the white top and it worked great, but beat the pad up real bad.

I would recommend this to anyone.
