Anyone running this combo that can tell me what speedo gear (how many teeth) they're using? I'm running a TH350 and soon replacing the original 2.73 rear setup. Is there a GM replacement still available or are they strictly repro (I think I've seen them offered by OPGI)...

    thanks!

after you plug in your numbers you plug in the different drive teeth and find the closest driven gear. The best combo I came up with was 8/19. Click for the part numbers on the same page. I plugged the part numbers in here http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ and had them in 3 days. I did my speedo gears this way and its dead on accurate. I checked it with a GPS.

    Scott,
The only thing you are missing is the number of teeth on your drive gear. The drive gear is on the output shaft. You can see it through the hole where the driven gear sleeve goes. iT is a helical gear like a distributor gear. You need to get the back wheels in the air, put it in neutral, and rotate the driveshaft while carefully counting the teeth. Once you have that, plug it into the tci calculator, or repost, and i'll figure it out for you. It's very easy. You cannot rely on someone else's combo. They could have a different drive gear in their trans. Count the teeth on yours.

Larry, I plugged in all the possible combinations of gears for scott and 17/41 was the best. Unfortunately a 17 tooth drive gear is not available for the th350. I'm not sure why they list it?? The next best combo was 8/19. He needs the black 8 tooth drive gear(#6261783) $6.92 and the 19 natural driven gear (#3987919) $2.83. Checking the colors is a lot easier than counting those teeth.

I wonder what I'd be doing on a Friday night if I wasn't married with children :Do No: instead of looking up transmission speedo gears for scott? :Dou:

thanks for the info AND the laughs :pp - I'll check the gears as soon as I get working underneath - swapping the rear will hopefully take place in the next couple of weeks. And I thought coming from Mopars, the Lark would be a vacation  !!
