I am looking to purchase a set of rally wheels/rallye wheels for my 1971 LeSabre (350-4). A man has a set for sale that he says were off of a 1977 Riviera. These should fit...yes? But just in case, I want to measure them when I go see them this week. what should they measure? 15x6 or 15x7? Thanks!
LeSabre 455 or 350? The former uses a 5 x 5 inch lug pattern and a 1/2" stud. The latter uses a 4.75" spacing and a 7/16" stud.
Confirm with the seller that his wheels are a 5 x 5" lug pattern with 1/2" studs. If they are, no, they will not fit your car. Just to make sure confirm that you have a 4 3/4" x 5" lug pattern with 7/16" studs.
Ok, thanks anyway. But based on what you just said, I'm confused now more than ever. Mine are 5x5" lug pattern with 1/2 inch studs..and I do not have the 455.
Actually, that vintage LeSabre, regardless of engine, always takes a 5 x 5 bolt pattern. I have such on my '71 LeSabre (originally 350-4) currently (sorry, no pic to upload from my phone!) with 235 /75-15 narrow white walls, a great combo on that car. Starting in '77, the 350-4 and smaller engines got the 4.75" pattern while the 403 cars got the 5".
Thank you for the info...I appreciate it. And thanks for the compliment, her color is silver fern. 61K miles
I think the '77 (and '78) Riviera is 5x5 standard. Not sure, but if you'll post pics of his rims we all can tell you which they are. Most likely they're 15x6; I think wagons were the only 7 inchers. Patrick
I think the OP meant 'road wheels' but called them rallies. I believe that the wheels from a '77 Riviera are large bolt pattern, 15x6, and should fit a '71 LeSabre. Patrick
The lingo created some confusion. Since the OP said he needs rallyes, I thought he had 4 3/4 x 5 wheels on his LeSabre.
