What side trim options on Rivvies???

I have 2 '71 Rivs. One has a thin spear that goes to the back tire and ends.
The other has the same spear continuing down the entire car followind the contour above the rear tire well.o No:
Any pics of options out there or info is helpfull.

I suppose one could have been added/changed at a later date.
But I have seen orig. ads for the '71 on ebay that show NO TRIM!!
What gives???

 

When I said 72 trim I meant 72 on.
There was no factory side trim on the 71.

Here are some available trim options for the model year 1971 Riviera:
(the white car has a 1972 grille, but it's a 71 model)

Those are the versions of what I have 'cept for the straight "shorty spear"
So that looks to be 4 diff. trim options(counting deleated trim)
I would really like to know what got what and why. I wonderf it came down to a paint color or interior or whatever was available that day.o No:
