    Adam:

Looking great. I'll provide you food, beer, and shelter if you're looking for a vacation. Only stipulation is that you take some of the peel out of my paint

Rob, I hope you sent the right one, too!!

Rob and Eric, I require a steady supply of Doritos and Pepsi for house calls.

Adam, you need to teach Rob how to do this, so he can help all the older guys that hate doing it, or can't get up once they kneel down to do the lower half. Tony

I finished buffing today - my arms are jello.

The result is really amazing! I didn't know there was such nice paint under there.. I pulled some of the emblems off to get them out of the way, and to help with ease of buffing.

Here ya go....yeah, I know I should've cleaned the mung off the bumpers, but I was too excited. :moonu:

Seriously Adam, you need to do that little cosmetic restoration that you did on your LeSabre to my Electra. Great work, looks fantastic. :TU:

Adam, the car looks dynamite. As I've said before, I prefer the clean look of these cars without the protective side moldings, so this car was ordered "right"!

Adam, I know that Greg Cockerill was instrumental in getting Coker to produce the dual stripe tires.

My Dad quickly replaced the original, dual stripe tires on my Centurion with radials, and I've had radials on the car ever since. But, if I were in the market for new tires, I'd be very tempted to go for the dual stripes myself.

Those old belted tire looks great but they are sorry tires handling wise relaive to radials. And I mean there is a bigggg difference. So if you drive it much I would keep a set of radials around.

Yeah, I've driven these cars with biad ply tires, and it's a chore at times. That's the only thing holding me back.

Car looks super :TU: , you'll have to explain to us how to polish, buff and the rest, I just ended up making a few circles on the trunk lid, then gave up.

    Thanks, Kimson.

All I did was buy some 2000 grit wet sandpaper and went nuts on the car smoothing the orange peel and in the act, I got rid of a lot of surface problems like scratches and embedded dirt.

After that, I went to an automotive body/paint supply store and bought a bottle of 3M Perfect-it 3000 rubbing compound. I also bought a wool wheel for my 9" grinder. I used this for the machine buffer. It can be a mess at times, but that's the price you pay for a really SLEEK result. If I were to do this car by hand, it would not look nearly as deep, and my arms would surely fall off.

Don't try to do this with one of those goofy polishing buffers you can buy at Auto Zone...they're worthless.

    NOS Bumper!

The LeSabre will soon have NOS headlight bezels, lower grilles, bumper, hood trim, and bumper guards installed. (guards are already on the car, but don't count, yet  )

Smartin, you are taking the wrong direction...this type of purchase is not consistent with the suggestions you received when you asked what to do with the Lesabre !!! :Smarty:
I think I saw this bumper on ebay afew weeks ago. If I were in the US, you would NEVER have got it   :beer Should have been much nicer on the Centurion (by the way, is it the same ?)

    Yeah they're the same...

But I'm finding that I've been able to make the car look really good without much effort. The Centurion has been hit in all the wrong spots, and I'm afraid that if I strip the paint off the quarters, I'll be reshaping that curve for weeks. Don't get me wrong, I will still treat the Centurion like I have been, but now I have two to choose from.

If I could find another NOS front bumper, it'd go on the Centurion. It's got a few good dents in it, too.

OK, OK, we all understand that your are abandonning the Centurion community, neglect your first car, do not update the Registry....You felt in love with a new one...that is the way things happen. :beer   ....

Great job on the paint work! I plan to do a full resto on my 4 door Century, not many people do this and thats all the more reason to do it!!!

I'm not saying you should give it a full resto, but it is nice to see that you have put some effort into fixing up that nice 4 door!

Jean-Luc, my Centurion is in hibernation for now, otherwise, it would be getting some more R&R:Brow: It'll come out this spring and tear up some more asphalt. As far as the registry, it's slow, but I'm a busy guy right now. As opposed to what January and February weather usually is, it's as nice outside as it is in late March right now....sao we're very busy at work. I have put in 26 hours the last 2 days......not fun!!

Sean, thanks for the compliments. My old 4 door was my baby, and this is doing a good job of filling the void.:TU:

LOL! Thanks for the laugh, Eric... :)

Adam, it's nice to see a four door get such royal treatment! Is this thing going to get duals? If you ever get bored of FM tunes, it's always nice to dip into the accelerator pedal and listen to those two banks of cylinders! :TU:

I'd like for it to get duals, but for now, it stays single piped. It has a brand-new muffler and tailpipe, so I don't see a need to change them anytime soon. It's nice and quiet also. A bit of a change from the loud convertible with a big block:grin:

I'm really itching to get going on this car, hoping to have it ready by our Easter show this Spring.....if not then, it will be ready for Rochester.
