I am installing a Stage 1 grind into a 400 and was wondering what I should put it at for the best performance. I don't have the cam card for it. But I will be finding out when I degree it soon. Just figured someone would know what it is best at.

    Thank you

    Oh

I'd ask TA, or one of the Jims...

Ran out of time today. Does anyone use them anymore?

A stock Stage1 cam is pretty wimpy. Are you keeping it stock for a restoration reason? There are a lot of other cam choices that are perfectly streetable and reliable that make more power and are funner to drive.

This cam is going in a 400. The cam was priced right. Yes, it is going in a car that will not see any track time, but the owner wanted a little bit better than stock.

Four degrees advanced seems to be pretty universal in Buick world, in my experience...

108 degrees intake center line seems to be the standard for Buick performance cams. I can only guess that applies to the stage 1 as well....At least I gave you a starting point.

OEM Stage 1 (1383853) cam is on 115 deg LSA, 3 deg adv. The ICL is 112.
For the Stage 2 (1385557), the LSA is on 115 deg LSA, 7 deg adv, 108 ICL.
