Hi John! Sorry I can't help you with your nailhead plug question, you might want to try "Da' Nailhead" forum in the Engine Tech section of the board. Ulmer...hmmm.... got any relatives in ND? (my mother's maiden name)
Thanx Yuppers! My family was in SD a place called Minnow (now gone) I am interested if she would contact me to see if there is a connect. I am at 559-285-7877. I do some geneology. Yhankx for your reply John Ulmer
Sorry John, but my mother passed away in 1983. Her parents are Rueben and Vivian(d) Ulmer. Grew up in Fullerton ND. I've heard of Minnow SD, but not sure where it is(was). Where are you located now?
Hi John! R45s is too hot, it might burn the pistons. To the best of my knowledge, the hottest plug to use in that motor is a 44s (or r44s). The 43s (or43s) is recommended for "sustained highway speeds" im my '66 factory service manual. Those are what I run. I baby mine (most of the time) and have not run into any fouling problems yet. I've owned a 425 Nailhead for the past 25 years. Hope that helps! :beer
