IMG_7608.JPG IMG_7609.JPG I am cleaning parts before I put them back in storage. I ran across this part. I have no idea what it does, but I only strip down step children Buick's.
Any help will be appreciated! Thanks

That's what I thought of, but I actually have the starter shield to that engine and it's much bigger and held on with two bolts. It is, or was greasy so it must've come from someplace on the bottom.

It protects the crankcase breather vent tube to turbo suction rubber elbow.

Dang Steve, both my sons have those cars. I do they put there are parts in with mine and hope I accidentally clean it. I'm done with that part! I know a box to put it in. :) I wish I had a prize to give you, but I don't. I will just call you a super slick!

They probably don't have the factory elbow and breather on their cars, and installed a push-in K&N breather, and put a cap on the factory turbo inlet. That is where the notorious 'oil to the intercooler' problem originates. One of the first modifications, even with a stock turbo. Most aftermarket turbos (and factory turbo inlet bell replacements) don't have provision for the breather tube..

IMG_7610.JPG I had another mysterious part. I'll post a picture and then you can laugh at me. After you said it went to a 3.8 turbo I went back in the garage and put this part on a valve cover to the same engine. It fit perfect. More kid parts in my box of goodies.

NOPE!!! Wiring channel for Buick 350 engine (1971/1972?) Fits on passenger valve cover to keep wire harness from contacting the exhaust crossover channel in the intake manifold.

Come on, ya gotta have SOMETHING that I don't know...

And on second thought... Could be for a normal aspirated 231 VIN A intake manifold wiring harness channel. No measurement on the center to center on the holes...
But definitely the wiring harness channel ... Seeing it in black makes me think more likely to be 231 engine... Buick 350 would be red...

Not funny John... Imagine some poor penguin parents frantically looking for their chick that YOU deprived of its only outside heat source? Or did YOU steal the penguin chick???
