What Is This Spring?

I finally unwrapped my rebuilt timing cover by UNDERDOG350 and it looks great. However he included a spring with it that looks like a pressure relief spring, but can someone confirm that's what it is? I tried messaging him but no response. I just want to make sure I'm not supposed to do anything with it and it's a spare. The timing cover is supposed to be completely ready to run (even came with a new oil filter installed!).

Cool! I wonder why he would include a spare . . . should I crack the relief nut open to verify there's one in there? I'm trying to not mess with it . . .

That looks like a stock spring to me. If you sent him a cover, that is probably what was in there and he returned it to you. My guess is he put a Stage1 (white) spring in there to raise the relief pressure from 40- 60 psi.

That is the 40psi spring if you prefer.

My cover I bought from him is working like a champ. 60psi going down the road, I preinstalled my adj. regulator, but I don't even have any adjustment in it. Don't need it lol.

But having proper bearing clearances help a ton though.
