What is the name of this breed of duck?

I see these birds on the shoreline behind our residence.

 

Looks like a Muscovy possibly

 

Vultureheadi Quackduckulus

 

Muscovey. They are not native to the US, and are an invasive species. Lots of them in FL.

 

They're not alone......

 

My uncle once told me to buy a duck to take care of the snakes.

A lot of people put LOL after stuff, but I busted out laughing.

 

Our neighbor had a few..maybe up to six at one point. Frist time I saw one it was in our yard, couldn't believe what I was seeing. could walk right up to it and take close up pics.
One by one they got hit by cars as the neighbor would let them run around. No more ducks.

 

The Trinis call them water chickens

Yep Muscovy, their neat as they pant like a dog, never heard one quack, got a few dozen running around the yard, all different colors, all have Turkey neck around the eyes, males have a lot more, guess they are a meat bird, ours die of old age lol

KILL THEM!!! Florida Fish and Game say you may kill them humanely. I like TrunkMonkey's burnout, only he went the wrong direction! On my side of the street the score is 6 - 0. Two Chevy kills and 4 Buick kills. >

 

...never understood invasive species solutions. Want to eliminate something, put a bounty on it. Can't wait for King Cobras (snake, not revolver) to become invasive. Then will have to import mongooses (mongeese?)...

 

I heard it's so cold in Florida the iguanas are falling out of the trees.

 

I haven't seen one fall out in my backyard today, but it was very very cold and I'm sure they weren't happy. We are probably moving very very slow.
