Was the thread pulled, or what exactly happened on the thread where the guy had his first post and was selling that yellow 70 GSX?

If it's the one I'm thinking about it was very odd to contemplate a time sharing sort of arrangement on a car. Maybe he was well intentioned but I don't see how that could work for a car.

Being the owner of that gsx I was putting the idea out there for some feedback. I was not offering the car for sale! I am sorry if it seemed as that but am merely trying on some ideas that others have given me Thanks for reading.

Oops. No offense intended. Just because I can't picture a new idea right away doesn't mean it's a bad idea. If I was so smart I'd have a dozen GSXs bought a few years ago when you practically couldn't give them away.

The thread was pulled pending review by V8Buick owners/admin, since it appeared to be selling "shares" in the car, and had been posted in a non-sales forum in order to get around our selling policies. Mike, I also do not see how one would benefit from paying for a small "share" in someone else's car. I doubt your name would go on the title, and it's highly unlikely a shareholder would ever have an opporunity to touch or drive such a car.

DICE21, if you wish to pursue this further, please contact owner Jim Weise, you can PM him under that exact name here.

David, for what it's worth I think you did the right thing. I can't quite picture how a timeshare on a car would work even if the person has the right intentions at the beginning.

Seems to me like a car is a very personal thing and you need to have full control of it.

Thanks again for being a good mod and clearing out the trash.

I figured it was pulled due to being listed in the wrong section, just wanted the definitive answer.

    Psssst! Pat!

I'm thinking about running the same deal! Of course, you will have to sit through a 9 hour high pressure sales meeting and sign a 40 year contract. But just think of it! You could have my Limemist GSX in your garage for two weeks out of the year! Of course, well, the only time I have open for you would be whetever the two snowiest weeks of the winter are in Loganton, Pa! And until it's restored, your two weeks will have to be spent helping to put it back together.

No offense, Dice, just having fun with Pat..... :beer

Ya know, Ken, in your case it would be ALOT more profitable

You can sell time slices for specific parts thereby multiplying your take !!!

In general aviation, it is very common to have several people own a small aircraft. Rotate weekends, and pay a yearly maintenance fee. GSX's are priced right up there with aircraft thesedays. Of course, after MY weekend with the car, there would be nothing left for the rest of you! :beer

A friend of mine who is a commercial airline pilot is part owner of a 1946 Piper J-3 Cub. I think he shares the plane with 5 others. I guess you could pull it off with a car, but all the owners would need to live in close proximity to the car. And the car would need to be stored in a common storage facility.
