What does this X mean on my intake

    Well, I bought a 74 buick 455 and am halfway through the rebuild. I would like to know what this x on the intake manifold means. I've seen this same x on a buick experimental block,.... any help would be awsome, maybee something , mabee nothin, ..............Thanks.

    There have been numerous 74 intakes with this on them...probably means nothing..

    "X marks the spot!"

    Back during the oil crisis, they put those X's wherever they thought they might need to be looking for oil...you know...there's 5 quarts in there!!!
