I drive a 4x4 91 GMC 2500 ext. cab to and from work 200 miles daily. This old truck has 200,000 miles on it and gets 16 MPG with my HEAVY foot. I have to say this truck is very reliable and smooth on the road! I have to say that these trucks are so easy to work on and parts are amazingly cheap! I have parts trucks that were $100-$300. It has never broke down on me so I just continue to rebuild it bit by bit, the only thing that is not rebuilt or new is the engine... I am almost done a stock rebuild on another TBI 350 so that will help the power and MPG I am sure.
Man, those are boring daily drivers! A bunch of trucks? Mine is an '04 Cadillac CTS-V. It has the LS6 400 HP Vette engine and 6 speed Tremec trans with 14" Brembo brakes. It gets 25 mpg on the highway. I put on the stock wheels with road race rubber and change the brake pads before taking it out to the many road courses in Texas and embarrass the Porsches, Vettes, and Vipers.
'03 2wd ext cab Silverado HD2500 w/towing package & most bells and whistles. Dark cinnamon red color. 105,000 miles & going strong. 17+ mpg, depending on speed and road conditions. Nice! :TU:
To each their own! One thing I try and not do is, diss others choice in rides. :spank: Good to hear that you enjoy your ride though. :3gears:
06 Silverado..i get a new next year...only pic i have with a full view of the truck...lol ya..thats a 250 dollar 71 Monte Carlo...
Mine: '99 WS6 Formula (not a Trans Am), 1 of 175 made. 27 of the 175 were blue (20 6-speeds, 7 automatics) and this car is a 6-speed. Good cheap fun for daily driving and the baby's car seat fits just fine in the back seat Even with the 4.10 gears it gets 24 mpg. This is the only daily driver I've even had that cost more than $1500. Wife: '08 Chevrolet HHR SS (Our other baby-mobile) It has the 2.0 liter Ecotec 4-cyl with turbo & intercooler (260 hp @ 15 psi), 5-speed manual trans, limited slip diff, & every other available option. It's one of only 4,421 SS models made, only 439 were silver, and this is the only one made with this exact combination of options. 30 mpg on the highway. Only "new" car either of us has ever owned.
I drive a company vehicle, a 2010 Ford E-250 work van every day. My mobile office. I really havent had a need for a daily driver/ work vehicle in 10 years. On the weekend, I just borrow Jen's F-350. Jennifer has two daily drivers- 07 GT convertible and a 4 eyed Mustang GT
2008 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew cab and the 5.4 liter engine, red on grey leather inerior. I love my boring truck:bla: Regards, 455NGLIDE
Sorry if you take offense to what I posted. I grew up around trucks. We use 'em to haul hay and cattle. I own two Ford trucks. But you have to admit they are BORING compared to a fast car.
i drove a 1990 f-250 for many years. i came across a couple used chevy malibus that are now my daily drivers, 3 times better mileage than the truck.
