After a few upgrades to my drive train I'm concerned I may need some help with tire hop. What does everyone use and your opinion on these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hal-5213 as an option. I've used ladder bars before but trying to keep the stock look and ride. Thanks
I don't use anything special other than factory `70-`72 boxed lower control arms and a rear sway bar. I have replaced all the bushings, springs and shocks and I have no problems with wheel hop regardless if I have the street tires or the drag radials. The GM A-body cars have an excellent rear suspension right from the factory. As long as everything is in good shape there is no need to use anything else. Some guys use hop-stop bars. I tried them but they never worked for me and I didn't like the way the car handled with them so I removed them.
I have no-hop bars in my high 11 seconds GS,I also use 2 air bags, with around 10 pd of pressure in the left one,and about 27 in the right one.My short time with these has been in the high 1.5 and very low 1.6.They work on a car with about 500 horses.Bruno.
I kind of mirror what Bruno said, I run an old set of No-Hop Bars with an HR Parts rear sway bar kit and with 500 horse at the flywheel the car leaves well, best 60' has been a 1.58 and 11.77 in the 1/4.
I have the TA No Hop bars. They are vastly superior quality compared to the Edelbrock bars I first tried to install on my stock 8.2 OO rear. They transferred right on to my 8.5 10 bolt. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?81563-No-Hop-Bars&highlight=
