I am selling parts left over from my C5, and listed a set of headers and x-pipe. Look at the listing, and see if it's clear that this was a local pickup item. Link to auction The buyer hit the "Buy It Now" button, and expects me to ship these to Oregon for free! I would have to cut the pipes to ship, and lay out around $75 to ship everything, plus getting boxes, etc. Before I reply, do you think I worded the description clearly enough? I will reply later today, and inform them that they are responsible for any fees incurred by me as a result of the auction if they do not want to send additional money for shipping, since they did not read the listing before using the buy it now option. Am I in the right here? Ebay winds up being a real pain lately :af: Thanks, Artie
Ken is right it is at the top of description, however it says you will ship to United States and there is free in there and alittle confusing. I would just let him know that you state in the ad you will do free local delivery. If he needs shipping you will get him the price.
Rather than reply in my usual blunt manner, which is sometimes misconcieved as being rude, I have decided to feign ignorance. Here is the email reply I sent: Hi, thanks for your winning bid. Please let me know which way you'll be coming to pick these up, so I can give you directions. I'll be available today and tomorrow if that's good for you. Thanks, Artie Perhaps they will re-read the listing, and realize their error. I'll keep you guys posted, thanks for confirming I'm not completely crazy
at the bottom of the page, under shipping and payment details, it does say shipping cost services available available to FREE local delivery/pickup united states only. will ship to the united states. at the top of the listing it says, ships to: united states. FREE - local delivery/pickup ( within the united states ) i can see how the guy might misunderstand. it looks like you didnt check the box for " no shipping, local pick up only " when you started the auction. shipping details could be clearer. the bidder has posted some fb that indicates he is a bit of a hothead, and posted at least one retaliatory neg. i would try to see if you guys can come to an agreement, so that you dont end up trading negs. when you accept paypal on local pickup items, a buyer can do a charge back and will no doubt win because theres no way to prove to paypal that the item was delivered to the buyer. i would accept cash only for local pickup items. i know thats probably not what you wanted to hear, but thats the way i see it. if you need to, you can file for your final value fees saying mutual agreement to void transaction, that way bidder will be less likely to want to post a neg fb. i would eat the listing fees in this case. henry
