What do you think?

Had an idea on duplicating some trim work such as side markers, front bumper parking lights, emblems, Buick name plate and headlight doors in decals and molded plastic/fiberglass for basically race cars. Had the idea when I saw how much money some of these NOS items are worth, and figuring on a GS/Skylark that will not see any street duty maybe there is a way on saving the parts from damage or saving some weight, or even better sell them to the guys that need them for their restored GS's and roll the cash back into the track car.

Anyway I did the Buick name plate on the rear bumpers of the '70. As the post says what do you think, is it worth doing these items for others, I'll definitely be doing them for my GS just figuring if anyone else is interested.

The shot below has the original name plate on the spoiler and the decal mounted in place.

Can't give an opinion as I don't think I'll ever be racing...but I love the body-colored bumper. It updates the look of the car.

    The parts do look good.

    Rick,
I think you have a great idea there. I've seen that kind of thing done with airbrush. Even modified street cars could use some touches like this. Good Luck!:TU:

Rick,I think it is an excellent idea-when you showed me this decal of the nameplate,it definately impressed me. I'm surprised nobody thought of this before.

If I had a racecar, this is one thing I would do for sure.

    Great job Rick! :TU:
