Has anyone ever used DHL before? I was just wondering what you guys think of them. They are way cheaper than UPS :jd: . Let me know.

    Thank you,
    Bob

We had used DHL at work for years to carry overnight letters. Never had a problem until recently.

Since they have expanded they have become bigger a-holes than UPS and FED-EX combined.

My boss sent out a single peice of paper and forgot to put the weight on the airbill. When he got the bill back they were charging him $40. He called to ask what was up and they told him the automatically charge for a 5 +lbs package if you accidently leave off the weight.

He told her that it was a single peice of paper in a standard size envelope, and she said she didnt care, that she is just following company policy.

DHL left a pallet of 5000 of the product of the company I used to work for on a dock because standard overnight home deliveries had to be made - despite the fact that we had a priority shipping account which is supposed to get us priority shipping. This was to be shipped overnight somewhere, then they claimed it wasnt their fault.

Bah, never was a fan of DHL at that company, never used them personally, though.

    Fred ,
I will disagree with you i have used DHL for over 12 years now and the only problem i have had is mother nature i ship all my parts with them and haven't had any damage whats so ever i have sent pre printed forms with no weight on them with no extra charges . I have switched are whole company over to DHL we spend about a 500,000 a year on shipping thumbs up for DHL.

My boss has been using them at least the last 4 years (as long as I've been there).

We never had any problems shipping out the airbills without the weight on letters until recently.Right about the time they started the "expansion" and wanted to compete with UPS/Fed-Ex in a big way.

When we called they told us it was the new policy. Maybe you got lucky and whoever is doing your pickups is nice enough to scribble a 1 on there for you when they see its blank.

edit: Won't go into how much we spend on shipping, but just fyi, we are FAR from a small company.
