Would appreciate anyone's thoughts. I've guessed at about 4,000 lbs. Old Buford is a '70 GS 455 HT, with working AC, PB, PS, roll up windows, TH400, Chebby 12 bolt, buckets, long console. Changes that lighten the load: B4B headers and 3"xpipe Centerline prostocks removed spare and jack Think all that probably drops about 125 lbs. Any thoughts? Thanks. :Brow:
Brad, you're being Bad! Mother-in-law hates dark confined spaces- she got real testy the last time when I tried to close the trunk lid. 4,000 - 360 for gas and 200 lb driver would put it at 3,640. That seems light for a AC/PS/PB car. Thanks, Jack.
a tank of gas would not weigh 360# unless you had about a 45 gal. tank. your guess of 160# is much closer randy
71 hardtop stage 1, 3850 lbs with 1/4 tank of fuel and me OUT, but has a/c, 15" rally's, p/w, pdl buckets, console and other small options. I'd say 3800-3900 pounds. later Tim
Well, my 66 Electra weighed in yesterday at 4650lbs with an empty tank and me not in it. Not sure if that helps give you some perspective. Bill S.
My 71 w/ 4speed and few options, no air, 15" ralleys, B4B, 3" no jack or spare, 1/4 tank of gas, me standing beside it . weighs 3620 lbs. Adam.
Many thanks, guys! Looks like somewhere between 3,950 and 4,050, with my "duce and a quarter" butt in the seat. Let's see, if I lost 20 lbs. I could put a sandbag in the rear of the trunk and still weigh the same. Might help Buford hook a bit better!! Have a good week. :beer
