Everyone around here thinks they are all the same engine. So I get the Buick/olds issue but, looks like they dropped another engine on it!
Really? Ive never seen one like that before ever. Can you please enlighten me? Because if you are for real, somebody just got one sweet deal.
71 455 HO..it looks funny, because the factory used an iron heat crossover with some metal sheilding...thats a seperate piece... its a factory piece...its really rare...and its supposed to look that way...
I learn something new everyday! I though someone had taken a stock manifold and really chopped it up! Sort of reminded me of the upper intake manifold on the 3100 series V-6 with all the runners exposed to the air.
OH, so not Buick or Olds, but Pontiac. Im surprised this is my first time seeing one of these. Very cool. Thanks for educating me (and a few others it seems) Mark.
its had the plenum opened up, like they do to the buick intakes, but its till a rare piece..its all about date codes etc
That's cool! I did not know this. It pays to know your stuff when shopping ebay. Kinda looks like the seller didn't research this but the buyer probably knew and got a good deal.
HO intake at that!! A good deal unless he wants it for his Buick LOL!! I didn't know about that...... Dad had a '69 Pontiac Grand Prix (not HO)
That's pretty much the only way you get decent prices on things on ebay anymore. People mislabeling them, I've bought a ton of WWII era army stuff for next to nothing that way.
So the HO and the RA IV both had the cast iron cross over? Never knew that. I do know someone with a NOS iron crossover
Im the one that bought it, i never would have found it, and i didnt want to say anything til it was paid for...the guy was new and i didnt want to jinx it...im going to use it..Thanks to Ken for finding it and posting it..
Good buy Mark. Knew it was Pontiac, but I don't mess with them much. ---------- Post added at 10:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:21 AM ---------- Good buy Mark. Knew it was Pontiac, but I don't mess with them much.
Got the manifold today, its too bad they opened the plenum, because its an incredibole intake thats never been sand blasted, or welded on..i mean except fot the plenum, its a restorers dream..im gonna use it, so it doesnt matter to me..but wow..what it could have been..lol
Mark.i knew it wasn't Buick.thought it looked pretty ugly with the plenum like that.glad to see you got a good diamond in the rough.lots of stuff out there that i don't know what it is from.........including the tilt column sitting in my garage.going to take it to the swap meet with me at the end of the month & put a stupid price on it.
