    Go with Stock Color!

I would go with one of the stock gree-teal colors. I have a 61 that if and when I restore it I'm going with the orginal color which is one of those. It has over 500,000 miles and has been painted 4 times, but I think I will put it back to the orginal color. I have had it for over 20 years and I'm still trying to get my money's worth out of it.--Paid a $125. for it in running condition with the orginal 283, Powerglide and pos rear.

I paid $35 for mine. It has a 350 with a 3speed in the floor. It has been painted once over the original paint. If you look close at my avatar on the hood, you can see the original paint.

    Way to Go!

I have been noticing it. Always think of my truck when I see it. Looks about like mine, needing paint. Mine was a high dollar truck when new, with the large rear window and powerglide- V8. Some day I hope to completely restore it. Mine has a 79 L82 Corvette engine with a 4L60 trans and a 3.73 pos rear. I put the complete suspension from a 79 truck--control arms, spindles, brakes, steering(power box) and sway bar on it. Rides and handles much better. Also have 5 hole truck rallies all around after redrilling the rear axles. Love these trucks, good luck with yours.

I need all the luck I can get with that thing. Mine has the small window with (as far as I know) all the original suspension. About the Corvette engines, how can you tell if it is pre 73 or not?
