Does anyone know the make and model of the carb that fits on a 1963 LeSabre with automatic and A/C? I found a Rochester 2GC Carburetor 7023146 for sale, but I am not sure if this is the right one. Anyone have a clue? Or, is this chart correct?: http://www.buicks.net/shop/reference/carburetor_numbers.shtml If so, since I have a 401, I need a Carter AFB carb, but would anyone know which model number for the Wildcat 410? I do not know the difference between all these models.
I think that I am remembering the 2 bbl carbs on those being rochesters alright, but cant remember if they were 2gc's or not....could be the 2gv,,, they are very similar, with the attachments being different somewhat...if you do your homework, you probably can come up with a workable combo....
What's on your LeSabre now? (My 64 was originally equipped with the Rochester 4gc, but opted for a Carter AFB in the late 70's because of availability. You could probably fit it with either brand).
It's at the shop right now because I am having the engine pulled, cleaned, all seals changed, repainted original color and making it look new again so I do not know what is on it at the moment. I will call the shop Monday and find out what's on it. I am hesitant to change the carb because it is super quiet right now and any changes make me worry it will get louder.
OK, I have a Rochester 7023042. But, will a 7023146 work? Is there any known difference from any of the carb experts on here?
