60 Studebaker Lark Station Wagon 3 on the tree 259 2Bbrl. with O.D. No power options. I didn't have no stinking automatic. Peace, Mike D.
learned to drive in my fathers 68 Ford LTD 4 door , no post.... pretty fast with the 390......actually loved that car.... I thought he was going to give it to me but he sold it for $1000 to a guy at his work for his son??? Driving test in my mom's 74 red camaro ....and it was promptly stolen off Sears parking lot while she was working..... man I really missed that car....
In 1977 when I was 13 my Dad had a 67 F 100 Ford truck that he use to haul scrap in.....he would let me drive it up and down the alleys in southwest Detroit.....he would sure get frustrated at me for hanging up the gears on that 3 on the tree.....but that rust bucket sure was fun.....boy do I miss my Dad...passed on 9-11-85.......Steve
Probably a Model A, but I'd like to emphasize that I'm not that old My dad always had collector cars but when I was a kid the cars we are collecting now were new, and in some cases hadn't even been built yet, so his collection consisted of Model T's and A's, a `24 Buick touring and a couple 1903 curved dash Oldmobiles that steered with a tiller rather than a steering wheel. Dad taught us to drive at very young ages. He would let us drive them in the local parades before we had a license to do so. I was also driving his GMC pickup out to the farm and back beginning when I was about 13-14, all country roads that the police rarely traveled. I once asked him "What if I get caught?" He replied "I suppose you will be in trouble". Somehow getting caught by the police didn't seem nearly as bad as if I'd have been caught by dad doing something I wasn't supposed to be doing  Fortunately, I never did get caught. If memory serves me correctly I took my drivers test in a `67 Mercury Parklane, or something like that, which dad traded in on a `69 Electra. I loved that Electra. Bill
56 ford station wagon,292 2barrel 3 on the tree sweet burnouts even with a almost burned out clutch:TU:
I learned to drive in my Mom's '76 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. Dad had a '73 Mustang convertible that was "off limits". That was fine. 500 ci was OK with me  My best friend and I used to dream of putting that 8.2 L monster in a Kaman Ghia. Still don't know if that would have worked, but at 15 it was fun to talk about.
